Master Chef Judge Kunal Kapur’s Divorce Granted on Grounds of Spousal Cruelty

New Delhi: Celebrity chef Kunal Kapur was granted a divorce by the Delhi High Court on Tuesday, citing cruelty exhibited by his estranged wife. The court’s verdict stemmed from observations that Mr. Kapur’s wife displayed behavior lacking in dignity and empathy towards him.

Mr. Kapur, renowned for his role as a judge on the popular television show “Master Chef,” alleged instances of disrespect and humiliation directed at him by his wife. He claimed that his wife consistently failed to show respect towards his parents and subjected him to public embarrassment.

In response, his wife refuted these allegations, dismissing them as fabricated attempts to mislead the court. She asserted her efforts to maintain a loving and loyal relationship with Mr. Kapur, denying any mistreatment or disrespect.

Examining the evidence, the bench of Justices Suresh Kumar Kait and Neena Bansal Krishna emphasized Mr. Kapur’s rapid professional success, indicating his dedication and hard work. The court cast doubt on the credibility of the allegations against him, ultimately concluding that they lacked substantiation and were aimed at tarnishing his reputation.

The court highlighted the detrimental impact of such unfounded claims, deeming them as constituting cruelty. The estranged couple, married since April 2008, shares a son born in 2012.
